I have also tried from the software update GUI and get 'Failed to download repository information'. It recomends checking my internet connection (which is up). I checked and I can ping 13.35.99.84 and have tried a different DNS server in case there was a DNS issue. I have tried with and without VPN.
Any ideas?

Failed To Download Repository Information Linux Mint
Hey,
The above title is what I get after the Software Updater tried to do an update. i opened a terminal and entered:
sudo apt-get update
I entered my password and after a long list it ended with this:
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.medibuntu.org/dists/.source/Sources 404 Not Found
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.medibuntu.org/dists/.source/Sources 404 Not Found
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.medibuntu.org/dists/.-i386/Packages 404 Not Found
W: Failed to fetch http://packages.medibuntu.org/dists/.-i386/Packages 404 Not Found
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
I closed terminal then opened the Synaptic Package Manager, then in the search bar I entered 'medibuntu' It showed two as being installed. I clicked 'Reload' and after it had done its thing it came up with this: Drum roll.

Prior to posting this Thread, I checked for other threads with the same problem. I changed my proprietary driver from: 'Nvidia binary Xorg drive, kernel module and VDPAU library from nvidia-304-update proprietar', to 'Nvidia binary Xorg drive, kernal module and VDPAU Library from nvidia-304 tested proprietary'
After which I ran the 'Software Updater', but got the same message about not being able to download the repository info.
I opened 'Software and Updates' I changed Download from; 'Server for the United States' to the 'Main Server' I had to enter my password to make the change. I did this because it was suggested a different server might rectify. I made the change bu nothing changed, I still have those four packages which seem to be lost?
I made certain I had and still have a good Internet connection. So there does not the problem lie. I have tried rebooting my PC,it did not help.
Any suggestions from the Peanut Gallery? Do you think if i went to those URL's and tried to download them then try to install those four medibuntu that would work?? I am going to look into the possibility?
